MIDWEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!

Congratulations to the Spartan Ladies as they won the Midwest Regional XC Championships. The team consisted of:

Danneille Hobbs 19:00 All Region
Kayla Price 19:46 All Region
Amy Hofmann 19:58 All Region
Samantha Sawyer 20:17 All Region
Jessica Thompson 20:30
Taylor Tippett 23:17
Amanda Glenn 24:32

The Lady Spartans become the first team in the history of Sun Valley to be the county, conference and regional champions.

Spartan Ladies win South Piedmont Conference Championship for the 3rd time in 4 years and return THE TROPHY TO SUN VALLEY!!!!

The top 7 finishers which qualified for the Midwest Regional Championship were:

Dannielle Hobbs, Amy Hofmann, Kayla Price, Samantha Sawyer, Jessica Thompson, Taylor Tippett and Amanda Glenn. The top five girls represent the best five girls in the history of Sun Valley.

Girls Win Trojan Invitational

Lead by Dannielle Hobbs with a personal best time of 19:12 the Sun Valley girls team won the Trojan Invitational. Sam Sawyer was second for the team followed by Kayla Price, Amy Hofmann,Jessica Thompson, Taylor Tippett and Amanda Glenn. The team defeat the Providence Girls Team for the first time in the history of the school. Providence girls team finished second, followed by Weddington. Look for complete results with pictures in tomorrows Enquirer Journal. WAY TO GO SPARTAN LADIES!

Hobbs Wins 3rd Annual Providence Invitational

Congratulations to "The Bird" on her victory and PR today at the Providence Invitational XC Meet with a time of 19:23.

2nd Place (11th overall) Samantha Sawyer 20:26
3rd Place (12th overall) Amy Hofmann 20:27
4th Place (27th overall) Kayla Price 21:18
5th Place (39th overall) Jessica Thompson 21:47

The boys team finished 14th overall and were lead by Andrew Gallowitch (20th overall at 17:16) and Camilo Lozano (21st overall at 1 7:16)

The teams next meet is Tuesday at Wingate University.

CONGRATULATIONS to Dannielle Hobbs as she was named the Sun Valley Female Athlete of the Year by the Charlotte Observer. This is quite an accomplishment considering the other female athletes that we have at Sun Valley. Dannielle is the first Sophomore to receive this honor in the history of Sun Valley. This is an honor for the entire Sun Valley Distance Running Team that one of our teammates has received this honor.

Congratulations to Dannielle Hobbs and Samantha Sawyer as they were both named to the All-Union County Track and Field Team. Dannielle was named to the Long Distance and Sam to the Middle Distance. Great Accomplishment Ladies.
